JUNIOR LIFEGUARD
Ages 11 - 16 * 3 Week (M-F) Camp * Jun 20 - Jul 8 * M - F * 8 am - Noon
Junior Lifeguard Tryouts will be scheduled April & May.
Applicants must be able to swim 100 yards, run 400 yards, tread water
(using legs only) for 2 minutes and swim underwater for 5 yards. Selection is based
on performance and a brief interview. Sign up for the tryouts
at Bldg 3828 during lap swim. Just need your name and a phone number!

STROKE CLINIC

Three weeks of swim team instructiion - a great opportunity to get ready for school swimming or
in preparation for joining a swim team!

LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION CLASS

Hone Your Swimming Skills

Classes held in the evenings.
Training Cost is $175.  Must be able to swim 300 yards without stopping. 
A pre-test is required * call 452-9429 for more information.

Employment Tryouts for spring and summer lifeguard positions will be held beginning April 1.
  Applicants must be currently certified and have completed an application and turned
it into NAF Personnel.  The employment test consists of three parts: a written
25 question test, a fitness test (300 yards using Free and Breast, and a brick swim) and
a set of scenarios that evaluate your performance in the following skills: 
Infant, Child and Adult CPR, Rescue Breathing and Choking,
Active Rescue, Passive Rescue (both surface and submerged), Deep-Water Spinal,
Bleeding, Shock, escapes, extractions, the use of protective equipment, and
appropriate communication skills.  Please call 452-9429 for more information.


SWIM TEAM

1800-1900 at the Indoor Pool

  • Pensacola Navy Youth Swim Team, a year-around swim team program that can be joined at
    any time. Child need only swim length of pool with rotary breathing and one length backstroke to
    qualify. Open to military, dependents & civilians 6- 18 years of age.

    Swim Team Mon-Tue-Thu-Fri 1730-1900 for varsity, 1800-1900 for juniors (School-Aged Only)
    Choose a structure that works -
    Monthly Structure 4 weeks ~ $45 mil, $50 DOD, $55 civ or -
    Seasonal Structure Begins Jan 4 $100 mil $110 DOD $120 civ
