                     Recycling (850-452-2028)

Housing
Pick-up
Program

NASP has been recycling since 1987- a direct benefit to the environment and a yearly boost to the station's MWR fund. Participate in your recycling program, by submitting your recyclables at various drop stations. The hurricane damaged the Recycling building and equipment and they are now being relocated from Corry Station on Roberts Way to Bldg 2691 off Turner, to the west of the Navy Federal Bank. Call for directions to drop box locations.

We currently accept white ledger; newspaper, magazines, office paper (i.e. carbonless paper, folders and junk mail;) lead acid batteries, rubber tires, cardboard, tin cans, aluminum cans, plastic and scrap metal.

Unfortunately, we do not have an outlet to recycle wood, foam, glass or wax coated paper/boxes and are unable to accept them.

Ways to make the recycle program more efficient:
Paper: Place types of papers in the correct drop-off bin. The bins will be marked "Newspaper" and "Magazines." If you are unsure to what classification your paper is, then please drop it in the "Magazine" bin.

Aluminum Cans and Tin Cans: Be sure that cans are emptied and placed in the correct bin. (Tin cans have seams, aluminum cans don't)
Cardboard: Breakdown cardboard and ensure there is no foam, plastic or wax in cardboard.
Lead Acid Batteries (Automotive Batteries): Submit batteries during operating hours, and secure one of two terminals with protective cap or electrical tape to prevent arching.
Scrap Metal: Drop off metal into red hoppers located on the east side of Bldg. 74. Do not leave metal on the ground, this will help reduce trip hazards and heavy lifting.

Please refrain from disposing of trash and non-accepted recyclables (foam, glass, wax coats) in any of the recycle drop off bins. This ruins the whole load and everything must then be thrown away.

Hours:
    Mon - Fri - Office: 7 a.m.- 3 p.m. *   Mon - Sun - Drop-off: 24 hours
